While the political and public attention is currently focused on the Covid-pandemic, the silent terror of antibiotic-resistant pathogens is raging more than ever:
A meta-study of international researchers, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, using data and statistical modeling, determined that more than 1.2 million people in the world are likely to have died by direct cause of infections with an antibiotic-resistant pathogen in 2019. Another five million deaths would be indirectly related to such pathogens.
